More stories from Karnataka:Mumbai: India’s IPL champions have finally secured a place in the 2019 World Cup after their quarter-final clash with New Zealand.
The Indian team has already been eliminated from the quarter-finals in Australia and England, but will be hoping to avoid any major mishaps to secure a place on home soil.
A win will give them a good chance to secure the first title in their domestic tournament since the IPL was formed in 2004.
The IPL is an international competition between eight teams from the six major cricket nations.
The five winners of the tournament qualify for the 2019 ICC Champions Trophy.
The series between India and England was one of the biggest of the year, with both sides beating the hosts in the last game.
England were beaten 3-1 in the final of the inaugural Big Bash, where the England squad featured five players who won the Big Ten Trophy.
India, who beat the hosts 3-0 in the World Cup quarter-finals, have now qualified for the World Twenty20.
Rajasthan Royals are in Group B and will play their second game in India’s home city of Ranchi on April 10.
They will face off against the Kerala Royals in Group D and then the Tamil Nadu Ranji team in Group E. Mumbai Indians are in a Group F and will face their first game in Mumbai on April 16.
Bengaluru Kings are in the Group G and will start their campaign in Rancha on April 20.
