Wellfleet Drive has been developing a new optical controller that could replace a traditional optical drive for laptops, notebooks, and desktop computers.
Wellfleet is an optical drive manufacturer, but it’s not just any old optical drive company.
The company also manufactures the Intel Optane drives that drive Apple MacBooks, and Intel has been trying to find ways to make the drives cheaper and more easily available.
WellFleets CEO Brian Bales said in a recent interview with Computerworld that the company had spent years developing a drive that could store up to 512GB of data on an optical card.
That’s quite a bit of data, and it’s been said to hold up to about 1.5TB of data.
It could be used for anything from storing music and movies to sending and receiving emails, and storing and retrieving photos.
Wellfleets CEO says that the drive uses an optical sensor to detect where the data is located.
The sensor then tracks the location of the data and stores the data on the optical drive, so it doesn’t need to be attached to a computer.
The company says the drive has been in development for years and was only recently discovered by a computer scientist.
The drive has a range of capacities, and the company says it has been tested in a range from 1TB to 512TB.
Wellfilts CEO Brian says the new drive is more than just a new drive.
He says the company has also built in software for the new optical technology, so that the system can be used on other types of computers.
“We’re building a very secure storage solution, one that can also support a variety of devices,” he said.
Wellfillts technology has a built-in memory that’s about 1TB.
That’s the same amount of storage as your typical DVD or Blu-ray player.
Bales says the optical drives he is referring to are designed to work with the same kinds of drives that the Intel chips that make up most optical drives use, but he says there are other options for other optical drives.
He says Wellfleet has designed its own hardware for optical drives that uses silicon chips from the Intel Corporation and has added an embedded microchip for speed and reliability.
Bales says he is not sure if this is the first time Wellfleet’s been doing something like this.
“The only way we’re able to do this is if we’re the first company to do it,” he told Computerworld.
Bale says the project was started by two friends, who both work at the University of California, Berkeley.
One of them is an opto-electronics engineer, while the other is a software engineer.
Bilsons friend, David Kohn, worked on the hardware and software side of the company, and Bales has been an advisor to Kohn.
The two are part of a startup called Wellfleet, which is a spin-off from the company that manufactures the optical chips used in the new drives.
WellFleets is also working on its own chips, but Bales isn’t sure if those will work with Intel’s chips.
The team plans to have the new chip available for a beta test sometime this year.
Bills office told ComputerWorld that the new chips are designed for use with the Intel Xeon processor, which will be the chip powering the new storage drives.
The chip will be available in mid-2018, and Wellfleet says it will be ready for mass production sometime in 2019.
